How booking works
A transfer here starts as a request and becomes a trip when a reply names the car and the meeting point. This page walks through the form, the message and the reply, in the order you meet them.
The request in six steps
- Open the Queen Alia airport transfer page or the page of your destination.
- Fill the form: pickup, destination, date, time, passengers, luggage, flight number and notes.
- Press the button. WhatsApp opens with your details already written as a draft message.
- Send the draft. At this point a person receives a request for a car, nothing more.
- Read the reply. It says whether a car is available and names the meeting point.
- Land, walk to the meeting point, and look for the person named in the reply.
What each field is for
| Field | What to write | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup | Queen Alia International Airport, or the hotel you are leaving | A ride runs from one place to another, so both ends are written |
| Destination | A hotel name or street address, with the area | The driver needs a place he can find, not a city |
| Travel date | The day you actually land | A flight that lands after midnight arrives on the next date |
| Pickup time | Your landing time, or the time you want to leave | It fixes the hour the car must be ready |
| Passengers | Everyone who rides, children included | The count chooses the size of the car |
| Luggage | Large bags, counted | Bags decide whether one car is enough |
| Flight number | The number on the ticket, such as the airline code and digits | It lets the reply follow your real landing |
| Notes | A stop, a child seat, a name for a sign | Anything the fields cannot hold |
What the WhatsApp message is
The message is a request. It reaches a person who reads the details and replies. Until that reply arrives the draft is only a draft, which is why the form says that sending it does not reserve a car. Many people expect an instant confirmation; the design is deliberate, because a car is promised only after someone has checked it against your flight.
When a transfer counts as confirmed
A transfer counts as confirmed when the reply names the car, the date and the meeting point. If you have received only an acknowledgement, or nothing yet, treat the car as not arranged and write again. The note in when the transfer is confirmed shows what a confirming reply looks like.
Your flight number
The flight number is the most useful single field. Flights land earlier and later than the timetable says, and a number lets the reply follow the aircraft rather than the clock. Write it exactly as printed on your ticket. If you change flights, send the new number in the same conversation. Which flight number lands covers connections and codeshares.
Children, bags and the size of the car
Every child who occupies a seat counts as a passenger, and a child seat belongs in the notes, so it is on the list before a car is chosen. Large bags matter as much as people: a family of four with six cases needs a different vehicle from four adults with hand luggage. Children count as passengers and passengers and luggage go into the detail.
The meeting point
After passport control and baggage claim you walk into the arrivals hall. The reply names the place to look for your driver, such as the arrivals exit, and that place exists only once the reply has named it. Keep your phone on after landing. Where to meet at Queen Alia describes what the hall and its surroundings offer.
One destination, one request
A request carries one destination. A second hotel, or a stop in a different town, is a second request with its own reply. A stop that is only a pause on the way, a meal for example, belongs in the notes. One drop-off per request explains the rule and which drop-off to book points each destination to its page.
Changing something after you have sent it
Write the change in the same WhatsApp conversation, say what is different, and wait for a new reply. The latest reply is the one that counts. If the change is a new destination, it is a new request, as above. Notes on a transfer explains why a note is not a confirmation.
If no reply arrives
A quiet phone is not an agreement. If you have heard nothing after a reasonable wait, write again in the same conversation with the flight number first and the date second. When your travel is only a day or two away, keep other transport in mind as a fallback until a reply names a car, and do not read silence as a yes.
Send it early
A request sent a day or more ahead leaves time for the reply and for any correction. One sent at the last moment leaves little room to fix a wrong date or a mistyped flight number, and those two errors cause most missed meetings.
A four-point check before you press send
- The date is the day you land, not the day you leave home.
- The time is a landing time, or a time you want to be collected.
- The hotel is spelled the way the booking spells it.
- The passengers and the large bags are counted, not estimated.
What to keep on your phone
- The reply that confirmed the car, with the date and the meeting point.
- Your flight number and landing time.
- The address of your hotel, written the way the booking spells it.
- The number the reply gave you for the day of travel.
Questions about the request
Does sending the WhatsApp message reserve a car?
No. The message is a request. A car is arranged when a reply names the car, the date and the meeting point.
What should I write in the flight number field?
The number printed on your ticket, such as the airline code followed by digits. It lets the reply follow your real landing time.
Do children count as passengers?
Yes, every child who occupies a seat. Add a child seat in the notes.
Can I list two hotels in one request?
A request has one destination. The second hotel is a second request with its own reply.
What if my flight changes after I have sent the request?
Write the new flight number and time in the same conversation and wait for a new reply.
